8th May 2009

Last week was science week. Wellgate Farm came to our school. There were many different kinds of animals. We stroked a pony called Dingle and fed the guinea pigs with the grass.

In the library we had some chicken eggs. The eggs were in the incubator to keep the eggs warm. Everyday we checked the eggs to see if there were cracks. A few days later the chicks hatched. They were then put in a box called a brooder.

Once the chicks had hatched we were able to hold and play with them.

We also planted some seeds. We did an experiment with flowers to see if they would change colours. Our caterpillars are now in coccons and hanging inside the butterfly net. We enjoyed ourselves in science week and we had lots of fun.

Week Beginning 10th November 2008

We have been doubling numbers with our teacher in numeracy, like 1 double 1 is 2. We used a measuring scale to see how many grams stuff is. Some of us made a talking book about The Great Fire of London. In science we have looked at different types of materials.
